HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth heavyweight rowing team hosted its final event of the fall, the Green Monster, on Sunday. The race was freshman-only and the Big Green entered two boats, one of which was combined with the lightweights.

The two teams combined for the win after all three of their crews finished in the top eight.

Dartmouth’s A boat – which was stroked by Joey Carleo and coxed by Emma Cooper – took first with a time of 13:47.3, leaving almost 40 seconds between it and the Green’s lightweight boat, which was second in 14:26.1. The first non-Dartmouth crew to finish was Tufts that finished in third, almost a minute behind the A boat (14:36.9).

The Big Green heavyweights and lightweights combined to form the Dartmouth C boat that finished in eighth place (15:56.6), leaving less than a second between it and UMass’ A crew. It was stroke by Willy Phillips and coxed by Emma Alter.

Dartmouth will return to the water in April.
