BOSTON – In a highly competitive field against some of the top teams in the nation, the Dartmouth men’s cross country team took ninth Friday afternoon at Boston College’s Coast-to-Coast Invitational at Franklin Park.
The Big Green posted 247 team points on the 8K course, led by Pat Gregory’s 39th-place finish in 25:13.
Junior Sander Kushen was next in terms of Dartmouth runners earning points, crossing in 25:24 to take 48th overall. Will Shafer (51st, 25:24), Miles Irish (54th, 25:28) and Sean Laverty (55th, 25:29) rounded out the scoring for the Green and White in a tight pack soon thereafter.
Benjamin Szuhaj (77th, 25:33) and Matt Kravitz (83rd, 25:55) were the sixth and seventh respective Dartmouth harriers to finish.
Third-ranked Syracuse won the meet with an impressive 35 points with No. 27 Illinois (56) and No. 21 Indiana (106) claiming second and third, respectively. Brown (4th, 117) was the lone Ivy League team to place ahead of Dartmouth with Harvard (11th, 288) placing two spots behind the Big Green.
