NEW HAVEN, Conn. – On the third day of action at the ITA Northeast Regional, the three Dartmouth men’s tennis doubles teams won their Round of 16 matches to advance to the semifinal, which will take place on Sunday.
Senior Max Fliegner and freshman Peter Conklin had an 8-5 victory over their opponents from Buffalo, while junior Roko Glasnovic and sophomore Charlie Broom had a very close match against a pair of players from Brown, walking away with an 8-7 win. Sophomore David Horneffer and freshman Dan Martin took down Fordham, 8-2.
Two Big Green players won their Round of 32 singles matches. Senior Ciro Riccardi defeated Cornell’s Pietro Rimondini, 6-4, 6-1, while Martin won his first set against Timothy Wang of Columbia, 7-5, and was leading, 3-0, in the second set when his opponent retired.
Riccardi and Martin dropped their Round of 16 matches to their opponents from Columbia and Yale, respectively.
Dartmouth will return to action on Sunday morning.
