HANOVER, N.H. – Head coach Chris Drake has announced the Dartmouth men’s tennis schedule for the 2017-18 season.
The Big Green will open their campaign a little earlier than usual at the Silverado Invitational (Sept. 8-10) in Napa Valley California, before playing in the annual Ivy Plus Tournament (Sept. 22-24) at Princeton and Yale. The team will squeeze four more tournaments into a month before wrapping up the fall: the All-America Tournament, Dartmouth Invite, ITA Northeast Regionals and Gopher Invitational.
Two months later, Dartmouth will open the spring portion of its season with a home scrimmage against Harvard (Jan. 15) before hosting Buffalo and St. John’s on Jan. 26 and 28, respectively.
February is a busy month for the Big Green, which will play eight dual matches and one tournament in four different states. In the span of a week and a half, Dartmouth will face Indiana in Bloomington, Louisville in Kentucky and Minnesota (Feb. 9), Rice and Bryant in Hanover. The Green will take part in the ECAC Indoor Championship (Feb. 16-18) before ending the month by hosting Iowa, Old Dominion and Boston University.
The entirety of March will be spent on the road. Dartmouth will travel through Oklahoma, Kansas and Tennessee when it faces Oklahoma State, Wichita State, Tulsa and Memphis. The Big Green will kick off Ivy League play on March 31 against Harvard in Cambridge. The remaining six events in April will all be conference matches.
The first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament will take place from May 11-13 at a location to be determined and the NCAA Championship will be in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, starting the following week.
