MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Dartmouth men’s tennis played four doubles and six singles matches on the first day of the Gopher Invitational on Friday evening. The tournament will run from Nov. 4 through 6.

Although the Big Green dropped both of their first-round doubles matches, they rebounded to take one of their second round matches. Senior Diego Pedraza and sophomore Paul Midgley defeated Josip Krstanovic and George Lovitt, 6-3.

In the first round of singles, freshman Charlie Broom and senior Max Schmidt both defeated players from Notre Dame. Broom had a three-set defeat of Brendon Kempin, falling by a score of 6-3 in the first round before coming back to win the remaining two, 6-1, 6-4, while Schmidt took down Rayl by scores of 6-2, 7-6.

Dartmouth will return to the court at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
