FARMVILLE, Va. — Senior Sean Fahey led the Dartmouth men’s golf team to second place at the conclusion of the two rounds played on Saturday at the Manor Invitational hosted by Longwood University, carding a one-under 143 over the first two rounds on Saturday. The Big Green finished the day 294-289—583 (+7), seven strokes behind the host school in the 16-team field.

Fahey was at his best over the first 18, shooting two-under par with a 70 on the 7,246-yard course at The Manor Golf Club. But he slipped only slightly the next time around with a one-over 73 to tie for sixth with three others at one-under par on the day, just two strokes off the pace.

Jordan Boulton of Longwood had the best round of any golfer in either round with a 68 (-4) on his first tour. His second round he matched Fahey with a 73 (+1), allowing James Madison’s Poom Pattaropong to grab a share of the lead at the close of play with a 71-70—141 (-3).

Two other Big Green golfers claimed a spot in the top 20. Sophomore John Lazor broke par by a stroke in his second round to finish up at two-over (146) on the day in a tie for 15th, while freshman Will Bednarz was one stroke behind him in a tie for 17th with a 147 (+3).

Junior Ian Kelsey improved three strokes from the first round to the second to card a 76-73—149 (+5), tying for 31st with senior teammate Jeff Lang, who had a consistent day with a 74 (+2) to start and a 75 (+3) to wrap things up.

The tournament will conclude on Sunday with the third and final round.
