HANOVER, N.H. – Seven members of the Dartmouth softball team received All-Ivy honors for a solid 2017 campaign as announced by the Ivy League office on Thursday.

The Big Green received three First Team All Ivy selections in Claire Bird, Alyssa Jorgensen and Karen Chaw. For Bird, it was the first time in her career that she has been bestowed a postseason honor. The junior made 36 starts in 37 appearances and handled the bulk of the catching duties behind the plate for Dartmouth. She finished the season batting .292 with 28 hits, including four doubles and two home runs. The Rapids City, Illinois native drove in 13 runs and scored 17 with a .324 on-base-percentage.

Jorgensen wrapped up her final season in Hanover with a First Team selection for the first time in her career. The Woodlands, Texas native hit .317 with 33 hits, two triples and 12 RBIs in 104 plate appearances. Chaw also concluded her senior season with her third consecutive All-Ivy First Team nomination. Chaw was one of the most feared hitters in the Big Green lineup this spring with a team-high .522 slugging percentage. Chaw played in 38 games with 37 starts and was tied for second on the team with the most hits (39). The Castro Valley, California native hit five homers and drove in 19 runs with six doubles.

For the second time in her career, sophomore Morgan Martinelli was tabbed for the All-Ivy Second Team. Martinelli was also solid at the dish, tying Maddie Damore with a team-high six homeruns. She hit .323 with a team-best 41 hits and started all but one game for Dartmouth in 2017. The third baseman also drove in a team-high 26 RBIs and finished the season with a .512 slugging percentage.

Junior Lourlin Lara also was named to the All-Ivy Second Team for the second time in three years in a Big Green uniform. She started all 34 games played and tallied 28 hits with three doubles and two triples. Lara was also a threat on the base paths with five stolen bases on seven attempts.

After taking on a majority of the pitching duties this season, junior Breanna Ethridge received an Honorable Mention after a great spring in the circle. The Loganville, Georgia native made 32 appearances with 25 starts, finishing with a 5.20 ERA in 164.1 innings of work. Ethridge pitched 17 complete games and finished second in the Ancient Eight with 98 strikeouts.

Freshman Calista Almer also received an honorable mention after a stellar rookie campaign. Almer hit .333 with 39 hits and a team-high seven doubles. She drove in 13 runs and saw action in 37 games with 36 starts. The Pollock Pines, California native also emerged as a threat on the base paths with 12 stolen bases on 17 attempts, just one shy of tying the record for stolen bases in a season, set in 2016 by Lara.
