HANOVER, N.H. – The Ivy League announced the 2018 softball preseason media poll on Thursday, with Dartmouth picked to finish fifth with 62 points.
Defending champion Princeton was picked to win it all, coming off its second consecutive conference title with 122 points and 10 first-place votes, while Harvard received 114 points, with five votes for first place, to finish second.
Last season, the Big Green swept the Tigers at home, winning 6-0 and 6-5 in a Saturday doubleheader. The Crimson presented a tough challenge for Dartmouth, as Harvard won all four meetings between the two teams last year, two apiece in Hanover and Cambridge.
The Big Green finished 2017 in fifth place in the conference, after winning nine-straight Ivy games, but dropping the final seven.
Next weekend Dartmouth travels to Florida Atlantic University to participate in the FAU Strike Out Cancer Tournament to open the season.
