HANOVER, N.H. – For the second consecutive week, the Dartmouth softball team has taken home Ivy League Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors. Morgan Martinelli was selected as Player of the Week, while Breanna Ethridge was tabbed as Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.

The Big Green extended their conference win streak to eight games this past weekend thanks to a four-game sweep of Brown in Hanover. Martinelli had an impressive day at the plate on Sunday in the doubleheader against the Bears.

The Morgan Hill, California native hit three homeruns including a two-run blast in Game 1 enroute to the Big Green’s 13-5 win in five innings. In Game 2, Martinelli hit a solo home run before hitting a three-run homer to help lead Dartmouth past the Bears 7-5. She finished the afternoon with 10 RBIs between the two contests and hit .692 on the weekend going 9-for-13. For Martinelli, this is the second weekly award of her career after she was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week last April.

Ethridge also had a solid outing last weekend, making an appearance in all four games. The Loganville, Georgia native picked up three wins with a 1.68 ERA. She hurled two complete games, surrendered just 10 hits and fanned 12 batters via the strikeout. Ethridge now leads the Ancient Eight with 87 strikeouts on the season. This is the second weekly conference award for Ethridge after she took home Pitcher of the Week honors last week.

The Big Green return to action next weekend for an important four-game series with North Division rival Yale on Saturday and Sunday.
