., Rapid City, Ill., C, Softball
The Dartmouth softball team won all four of its games this past weekend, taking two from Cornell and Princeton. Claire Bird had a fantastic weekend at the plate hitting .600 with a 1.300 slugging percentage. In Dartmouth’s 6-0 victory over the Tigers, Bird went 3-for-3 with a triple, home run and three RBIs. She followed that performance up going 2-for-4 with another triple and RBI in the second game of the twinbill against Princeton. The catcher from Rapid City, Illinois was also named Ivy League Player of the Week for the first time in her career in Hanover.
, Hope Island, Queensland, Men's Tennis
This weekend, Dartmouth men’s tennis defeated Yale and Brown by scores of 4-1 to improve to 2-1 in Ivy play, which is good for tied for third in the conference standing. George Wall clinched the win for the team on both days in singles action and, playing alongside David Horneffer, won both matches at No. 2 doubles. On Sunday, despite falling at No. 1 doubles, a 6-4 win by Wall and freshman David Horneffer at the No. 2 position and a very close 7-6(3) victory at the No. 3 spot gave the first point to Dartmouth. The senior’s win at the No. 5 singles spot clinched the match for the second day in a row for the Big Green.
