PRINCETON, N.J. – After her solid performance in the Mardi Gras Classic Tournament this past weekend, Dartmouth freshman Micah Schroder was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Schroder had an impressive debut with the Big Green, appearing in three games batting .429, going 3-for-7 at the plate. On Feb. 25 against Mississippi Valley State, in the second inning Schroder hit her first career home run, which was a two-run blast to center field. The homer cut Dartmouth’s deficit to three runs at the time before the Green eventually fell to the Devils.
On Sunday against the ACC’s Maryland, the Houston, Texas native hit a two RBI single for the Big Green’s first runs of the afternoon. Schroder also recorded her first career stolen base in the contest with the Terps. The game eventually ended in 5-5 draw in the sixth inning due to Dartmouth’s travel plans.
Schroder is the first Big Green student-athlete to be selected as the Rookie of the Week since Morgan Martinelli received the accolade on April 12, 2016.
Dartmouth returns to action this weekend when the Big Green travel to Kennesaw, Georgia for the Kennesaw State Tournament.
