HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Dartmouth men’s track & field team is in first place after the first full day of competition at High Point’s Bob Davidson Spring Kick-Off at Dick Vert Stadium.
Making their outdoor debut on Friday, the Big Green have 67 points with 11 events scored, 23 points up on second-place Monmouth.
Max Cosculluela was a winner in the pole vault. The senior was the lone competitor to clear 5.05m, doing so on his second bid at the height.
The team picked up big points in the final of the 110m hurdles as Parker John (14.40) was second with Nico Robinson (14.57) and Alex Frye (14.64) taking fourth and fifth, respectively.
Junior Amos Cariati was third in the 400m with a 49.16 to his credit.
Lucas Ribeiro (5th, 15.38m) led a contingent of three Dartmouth throwers to finish in the top 10 in the shot put, leading Colin Minor (7th, 14.96m) and Timothy Brennan (10th, 14.59).
Cole Andrus was second in the javelin as his fifth throw was measured at 61.97m.
Sophomores Ben Colello and Matthew Sindelar went one-two in the men’s decathlon over the course of Thursday and Friday. Colello posted 6,928 points to Sindelar’s 6,196 points.
The Bob Davidson Kick-Off Spring Classic concludes Saturday (March 18) with field events starting at 9 a.m. and the track events slated to begin at noon.
