The Dartmouth women’s soccer team is traveling to Penn for an afternoon matchup at 4 p.m.
SCOUTING THE QUAKERS
The Quakers come to the match with a 3-6-3 record and have most recently lost to Columbia in overtime last weekend, 1-0. Their leading scorer is senior Erica Higa who has posted two goals. Sophomore Kitty Qu has played 10 games in the goal for Penn, recording a 2-4-3 record with 42 saves and a .875 save percentage, second in the league.
LAST TIME AGAINST PENN
Last season’s game against Penn came down to a 1-1 tie at Burnham Field. Former Dartmouth player Holly Patterson scored on a penalty kick in the second half and the Quakers tied it up. Neither team scored in the overtime periods, resulting in the draw. The Big Green holds the series lead 15-8-5.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth is coming off a 3-2 win over Holy Cross on the road. Senior captain Gia Parker scored two goals on assists from Claire Trop, Alyssa Neuberger and Lauren Lucas, while Nueberger scored a goal as well. Parkers second goal in the 69th minute ensured the win for the Big Green, while the Crusaders were still trying to score and tie the game up.
OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN
Parker is joined by Bianca Ribi as this year’s captains, and while they are leaders of the team they are also contributing to the offense with a combined five goals and five assists.
The freshmen members of the squad are starting off on the right foot with a combined two goals and five assists to support the Dartmouth offense.
IN THE NET
Another member of the class of 2021, Mariel Gordon, has played 1129 minutes protecting the goal for the Big Green. She holds the 6-7 record with a league-best 48 saves, a .750 save percentage and three shutouts.
Looking ahead, the Big Green will return to action next Saturday, October 21 at 3:30 p.m. as they take on Columbia at home.
