The Dartmouth women’s soccer team will travel to Providence, Rhode Island this weekend to face Brown in the first game of Ivy League play this season.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Brown enters the contest with a 7-2 record after winning the last four games in a row. On Wednesday, the Bears defeated Sacred Heart 2-1, with goals from senior forward Mikela Waldman and sophomore Abby Carchio. Waldman leads the conference in goals with seven and teammate Star White leads the Ivy’s in assists with five. Junior goalkeeper Christine Etzel has played 826 minutes in the net and grabbed a total of 35 saves and a save percentage of .761.
LAST TIME AGAINST BROWN
Last September the Big Green dropped its Ivy League opener to Brown, 1-0, at home. Former forward for the Bears, Kate Maher, scored the only goal of the game. Sunday’s game will be the 41st meeting between the two teams, who have a completely even record of 19-19-3.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth is coming off a Tuesday night loss to Boston University on the road. It is the second loss in a row for the squad after dropping last Friday’s game to Northeastern in rainy conditions in Massachusetts.
AYE, AYE CAPTAIN
Seniors Bianca Ribi and Gia Parker are captaining the Big Green this season. Ribi is tied with freshman Erin Kawakami leading the squad in assists with three, and has recorded three goals for the season.
After this weekend, Dartmouth will return to its home field to take on Princeton next Saturday at 1 p.m. on Burnham Field.
