HANOVER, N.H. – Head women’s soccer coach Ron Rainey announced the hiring of Nicole Ragano as an assistant coach for the 2018 season.

Ragano comes to Hanover after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at California Baptist University where she focused on goalkeeper development and recruiting.

“We are excited to add Nicole to the DWS family,” said Rainey. “She will bring a nice energy and ability to connect with players, recruits, alumni and our athletic department, as well as the greater Dartmouth community. We are excited to welcome her here and looking forward to hit the ground running!”

She helped lead the team to first place in the Pacific West Conference and the first round of the NCAA Division II tournament in 2017, following the 2016 second place finish. Ragano’s work with Cal Baptist’s goalkeeping squad paid off, as the team’s starting keeper broke career records for saves and shutouts. She was named Defensive Player of the Week three times and received Goalkeeper of the Year accolades from the conference.

While in California, Ragano was involved in the community, coaching Legends Soccer Club, working with school-aged athletes in the area, and as an assistant coach at Martin Luther King High School and Santiago High School. She held these positions before she began coaching at CBU, starting at both Legends and the high schools in 2013.

Ragano played Division I women’s soccer at UC Riverside from 2012-15 where she was a goalkeeper.
