HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women’s soccer freshman defender Bonnie Shea has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
In last Monday’s win over UMass Lowell, Shea found herself in a position to score her first collegiate goal and get the ball rolling off a corner kick from teammate Brittany Champagne. Shea scored in the 15th minute, setting the tempo for the Big Green who were playing at home.
The Atlanta native did not waste time in finding an opportunity to score her second goal, in Saturday’s matchup at Yale. Shea scored the only goal for Dartmouth, tying the game that would eventually end in overtime.
This is her first collegiate weekly award, and the first this season for the Big Green.
Dartmouth returns to action Tuesday, traveling to Holy Cross for an evening game at 7:30 p.m.
