Recruiting Information
At a time when some would suggest that the phrase "student-athlete" is an oxymoron, Dartmouth continues to demonstrate that excelleance in academics and excellence in athletics are not mutually exclusive.
"Athletics and athletes have played and will continue to play an important part in the life of the College," said President James Wright. "Today, athletics are an integral part of the Dartmouth experience."
In an environment that encourages a well-rounded interest in many activities--from music and art to student government and volunteer service--more than 75 percent of Dartmouth's 4,300 undergraduates participate in intercollegiate (the College has 34 varsity teams) and club sports, intramural athletics, physical education and fitness programs, and, through the Dartmouth Outing Club, a range of outdoor recreational activities.
