The action on the hardcourt is heating up as the Big Green wraps up the non-conference portion of 2016-17. Freshman Brendan Barry scored the game-winning basket as Dartmouth beat UNH, 63-62 on New Year's Eve. Isalys Quinone is making the most of her sophomore season averaging just over 29 minutes per game for the women's basketball team.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Isalys Quinones, So., Chula Vista, Calif., F, Women's Basketball

Isalys “Ice” Quinones had a solid performance last week for the Big Green, which included 10 points and 13 rebounds in Dartmouth’s, 69-64 overtime victory against Albany in Leede Arena. She followed that game with 14 points in the Big Green’s final nonconference tilt of the regular season at UNH. Quinones has emerged as a key player in the 2016-17 campaign averaging just over 29 minutes a game.

Brendan Barry, Fr., Red Bank, N.J., G, Men's Basketball

Trailing New Hampshire by two on New Year’s Eve with 5.3 seconds remaining, Dartmouth men’s basketball coach called the number of freshman Brendan Barry, who dialed up a game-winning three-pointer to lift Dartmouth to a thrilling 63-62 victory over the Wildcats. It was the Big Green’s first win over UNH at Leede Arena since 2004. Barry finished the game with eight points thanks to a pair of triples, but the clutch shot kicked off the new year celebration a little early in Hanover.
