HANOVER, N.H. Head coach Gilad Doron announced the 2017 Dartmouth volleyball team awards at the end-of-season banquet. Three Big Green players were recognized for their performances throughout the season. 

Senior captain Sara Lindquist was named the Servant Leader, which is given to the player who always puts her team before herself and embodies the core values of Dartmouth volleyball. The outside hitter from Mercer Island, Washington, appeared in all but two of the team’s 85 sets and was first on the team in kills (185) and fourth in both block assists (34) and total blocks (40). She was named CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-Ivy.

Sophomore Tori Dozier received two awards: Rookie of the Year and MVP. A transfer from North Carolina State, Dozier appeared in all but one of the team’s sets throughout her first year in Hanover. She was first on the team in assists (664), which puts her 11th all-time in both a season and her career, while her 7.90 assists per set has her 17th all-time. She was also second in digs (218), block assists (62) and total blocks (65) and was fourth in kills (94).

Fellow sophomore Carly Tower was named Most Improved on the team. In 84 sets, she was first on the team in both block assists (86) and total blocks (94) and was second in kills (133). Her 1.12 blocks per set has her first in the all-time record book, while her 94 total blocks puts her second for most blocks in a season, just two behind Elisa Scudder in 2013.
