HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth volleyball senior Sara Lindquist was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team, as announced on Thursday.

She is the only Ivy League student-athlete to appear on the list.

This is the second time in the last two years that a Big Green volleyball player has been named academic all-district, as Emily Astarita ’17 was a first-team selection in 2016.

"This is a great honor and a great way to represent the Dartmouth student-athlete body," head coach Gilad Doron said. "Sara had her best year as a volleyball player this fall, and she still managed to keep in very high academic standing. We are very proud of her accomplishments and wish her the best post-graduation."

The geography major from Mercer Island, Washington, was one of two players to appear in all 23 matches this season, starting 17 of them. She was first on the team with a career-high 185 kills, and also added one ace, 66 digs and 40 total blocks. This season alone, she almost matched her kills from the last three years combined (192).

She wrapped up her career last weekend, helping Dartmouth end the season in dramatic fashion by defeating Penn and Princeton for the first time in a single weekend since 2006. Throughout her four years, she accumulated 377 kills, three aces, 156 digs, 24 solo blocks and 76 block assists.

The Big Green co-captain will appear on the national ballot and will vie for Academic All-America honors to be voted on in a few weeks.
