ORLANDO – The Dartmouth women’s track & field team continued its outdoor opening weekend Saturday at the UCF Black & Gold Challenge.

The non-scoring meet saw many new individuals compete outdoors for the first time this season at the UCF Track Complex.

Leading the way for the Big Green was sophomore Cha'Mia Rothwell. In her first competition since dominating the Ivy League Indoor Championship three weeks ago, Rothwell registered her team’s two best finishes of the day.

Rothwell was second in the 100m hurdles, posting a 13.56 to finish just behind a runner from Kentucky and just ahead of another from Ohio State. The second-year sprinter wasn’t done, as she took ninth in the 200m with a 24.03 to her credit.

In the long jump, Olivia Goodwin (5.15m) and Folasade Akinfe (5.07m) were 18th and 20th, respectively.

Samantha Stevens was 21st is both the shot put (11.99m) and discus (38.08m) as was Danielle Okonta in the 400m (58.39).

Dartmouth now heads north to the Florida Panhandle to compete in the Florida State Relays on Friday.
