ORLANDO – The Dartmouth women’s track & field team kicked off the 2018 outdoor season Friday afternoon at the UCF Black & Gold Challenge.

Just a small group of individuals competed in the opening day of UCF’s meet.

Much like it had during the indoor season, the pole vault was dominant in the outdoor opener. Freshman Brooke Brunet was third in a field of 30 competitors, clearing 3.80m on her first attempt. Sophomore Julia Valenti was fourth in the event, clearing the same height on her second attempt.

Senior Bridget Douglas was ninth in the javelin throw as he best toss came on her third attempt and measured 38.16m.

The non-scoring meet continues Saturday at the UCF Track Complex.
