RALEIGH, N.C. — The Dartmouth women’s track & field team continued its outdoor season Friday at the opening day of the 2017 Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State.

The non-scoring meet held at Paul Derr Track features nearly 2,500 competitors across several different levels.

The highlight of the meet for the Big Green came midway through the day as senior Helen Schlachtenhaufen won the 1500m in 4:18.25, more than a second and a half faster than the second-place runner. Juniors Bridget Flynn (4:28.97) and Bridget O'Neill (4:29.43) were 23rd and 24th, respectively.

Freshman Cha'Mia Rothwell ran the second-fastest time in program history in the 100m hurdles. Rothwell was the second collegian to finish, doing so in 13.99, a time that trails only her school-record 13.69 set last Friday at High Point for fastest ever by a Dartmouth woman in the event.

Rothwell was also 12th in the long jump with a distance of 5.50m, while classmate Folasade Akinfe was 18th with a 5.38m.

The Big Green continue their weekend in Raleigh mid-morning on Saturday.
