ATLANTA, Ga. – Dartmouth women’s tennis fought the entire time, but ultimately fell to Denver, 4-3, on the first day of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. The Big Green dipped to 2-1, while the Pioneers won their first match of 2018 and are 1-0.

The Big Green got off to a good start with senior Julia Schroeder and junior Allison Chuang's 6-2 victory at the No. 2 position. Dartmouth followed that up with a 6-4 win by senior Kristina Mathis and sophomore Racquel Lyn to take the first point.

The Pioneers tied things up and took the lead with wins at the No. 2 and 6 singles positions, but freshman Maddie Hwang’s 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4 and Lyn’s 7-5, 6-4 victory at the No. 3 position put Dartmouth back ahead, 3-2. Two, three-setters remained and, close as they were, Denver walked away with both to take the match.
