PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth women’s tennis team fell to No. 45 Princeton, 5-2, at the Lenz Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Big Green concluded the 2017-18 season with an overall record of 11-11 and 4-3 in Ivy League play, while the Tigers improved to 19-3 and 7-0 to win the conference title.

Wins at the No. 3 and 2 doubles positions gave the first point of the afternoon to Dartmouth. Junior Allison Chuang and freshman Madison Hwang got things started with their 6-1 win at No. 3 and were followed up by a 6-3 victory by senior Julia Schroeder and freshman Abigail Chiu at the top spot. 

Three straight Tiger victories at No. 3, 6 and 4 singles gave the home team a 3-1 advantage, while two more wins at No. 5 and 2 clinched the win for Princeton. Playing her final collegiate match, senior Kristina Mathis – ranked No. 114 in the nation – defeated Katrine Steffensen in three sets to get one more point on the board.
