HANOVER, N.H. – After two months of non-conference matches, Dartmouth women’s tennis will open Ivy League play at home this weekend, taking on Harvard at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Those who subscribe to the Ivy League Network (ILN) can watch the match live.
The Big Green enter the match with an overall record of 7-7. They just returned from their annual spring break trip to California with a 1-3 mark following a win over San Diego State (4-3) and losses to Fresno State (5-2), No. 2 Pepperdine (5-2) and Long Beach State (4-3).
Harvard, which is also kicking off conference play, enters the weekend with a record of 8-8. The Crimson are on a two-match winning streak after taking down No. 12 CSUN (4-2) and Quinnipiac (6-1).
Last year, the teams opened the seven-match Ivy season on April 2. Dartmouth won the doubles points following victories at the No. 1 and 2 positions and, from there, the Big Green and the Crimson tied the score a few times before sitting at 3-3 with one match to go. Play at No. 1 went to three sets and was won by the Harvard player to give the visitors a 4-3 win.
Next up, Dartmouth will host Yale on Friday before heading to Providence on Sunday to take on Brown.
