HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women’s tennis fell to Boston College, 5-2, at the Boss Tennis Center on Friday evening. The Big Green dipped to 3-2, while the Eagles improved to 3-1. 

Senior Julia Schroeder and freshman Abigail Chiu had a 6-2 win at the No. 2 position, but BC victories at the No. 1 and 3 positions gave the doubles point to the Eagles. 

BC soon had a 3-0 advantage following wins at No. 4 and 6, but back-to-back Dartmouth wins got the Big Green back in the game. At the No. 5 position, sophomore Allison McCann had a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Dasha Possokhova, while Schroeder had a 7-5, 7-5 defeat of Kylie Wilcox at No. 2. 

The Eagles clinched at the No. 3 spot, but senior Kristina Mathis kept fighting against Asiya Dair at the top spot. The Big Green senior played two very close sets, but was narrowly edged in the tiebreak.

Dartmouth returns to the court on Sunday when it hosts William & Mary at 11 a.m.
