HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women’s tennis came back from a dropped doubles point to defeat Liberty, 4-3, at the Boss Tennis Center on Saturday. This was the first time in program history that the Big Green (2-0) and the Flames (0-1) met.

Senior Julia Schroeder and freshman Abigail Chiu had a 6-3 victory over Rebekah Anderson and Polina Miroshnichenko at the No. 1 doubles position, but Liberty wins at No. 2 and 3 put the Flames ahead going into singles.

Schroeder tied things up with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Miroshnichenko at the No. 2 singles, while classmate Kristina Mathis – ranked No. 78 in the ITA national rankings – put Dartmouth ahead with her 6-3, 6-2 win at the top spot. Liberty was victorious at the No. 3 and 6 positions, giving the lead back to the Flames (3-2).

Freshman Maddie Hwang made it a 3-3 match with her 6-3, 7-6 win over Evangeline Crist at No. 5, while sophomore Racquel Lyn clinched the win for the Big Green at No. 4. The Dartmouth rookie dropped the first set to Lara Sores (6-4) before rebounding to take the remaining two, 7-6, 6-2.
