HANOVER, N.H. – On day one of the three-day Big Green Invite, the Dartmouth women’s tennis team took on Yale, winning three doubles matches and three singles matches.
In doubles, freshmen Maddie Hwang and Jasmine Abidi had a 6-0 victory over Sonal Shrivastava and Elizabeth Zordani, while sophomore Chuyang Guan and senior Shannon Mukerji had a 6-4 defeat of Amy Yang and Caroline Amos.
In singles, senior Kristina Mathis and Abidi both picked up their second wins of the day. Mathis defeated Martinelli in three very close sets, winning the first, 6-4, before dropping the second by the same score. She took the third, 7-6(4). Abidi faced Swett and walked away with a 7-5, 6-2 victory. Sophomore Allison McCann picked up a win with her 6-4, 7-5 defeat of Zordani.
The Big Green will return to the court at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
