INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – Senior Julia Schroeder and freshman Abigail Chiu of the Dartmouth women’s tennis team competed at the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championship on Wednesday, falling in the first round of doubles.
The event is being held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden through Nov. 5. The Big Green duo made it into the tournament by virtue of their victory at the ITA Northeast Regional a few weeks ago.
Schroeder and Chiu took on Kentucky’s Mami Adachi and Akvile Parazinskaite, who were ranked No. 13 in the ITA preseason rankings. The Dartmouth players fought hard, but ultimately fell to the Wildcat pair, 6-3, 6-0.
The Green pair will play in the consolation draw on Thursday.
