PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Dartmouth women’s tennis went 5-2 on the first day of main draw matches at the ITA Northeast Regional Championship on Thursday. The event is hosted by Penn and will run through Monday, Oct. 23.

Two of the Big Green’s doubles teams went undefeated through the first two rounds of action. Senior Julia Schroeder and freshman Abigail Chiu had an 8-2 first-round victory over Temple’s Kristina Titova and Yana Khon and went on to defeat Rutgers’ Kat Muzik and Maya Jacobs, 8-3, in the second round. 

Senior Kristina Mathis and sophomore Racquel Lyn took down Gillian Perrotta and Jacquelyn Fitz-Randolph of UConn, 8-2, before defeating Siena’s Nanea Perkins and Natalie Weaver, 8-2. 

In the first round of singles play, sophomore Allison McCann had a 6-4, 6-2 win over Cornell’s Madison Stevens to advance to the second round.

Dartmouth will return to the court on Friday for day two of regionals.
