MALIBU, Calif. – Senior Kristina Mathis won the consolation singles title at the 2017 ITA/Oracle Masters at the Malibu Racquet Club on Sunday.

After defeating Seattle’s Michelle Lui in the first round, the Big Green co-captain went on an undefeated streak, taking down Margita Sujic of Northern Kentucky, 6-0, 6-4, in the back draw. In the semifinal against Denver’s Julia O’Loughlin the next day, Mathis had a great 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 victory to advance to the final.

Taking on South Alabama’s Alexandra Stiteler, Mathis won the consolation title by default.

Next up for Dartmouth will be Yale's Bulldog Invitational from Oct. 6-8.
