WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Dartmouth women’s tennis team faced host William & Mary on day two of the Tribe Invitational on Saturday. The entire Big Green squad made it into the match.
In doubles, senior Julia Schroeder and freshman Maddie Hwang – who was playing in her first collegiate match – had a 6-2 victory over Natalia Perry and Cecily Wuenscher. Sophomore Racquel Lyn and freshman Abigail Chiu were close, but fell to their opponents by a score of 7-5, as did junior Allison Chuang and senior Shannon Mukerji.
Four Dartmouth players won their singles matches. Chiu had a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Charlotte Madson, while Mukerji had a 7-5 win over Deepa Dhore. Lyn had to go to three sets to win her match against Perry, but ultimately walked away with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-0 defeat, and Hwang had a 2-0 day, taking down Wuenscher, 6-4, 6-0.
The Big Green will conclude the invite on Sunday with a 9 a.m. match against Iowa.
