HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women’s tennis team returned to the court on Saturday for day two of the Big Green Invite, taking on Purdue and Penn State/Yale. Freshman Racquel Lyn went undefeated, winning both her singles and two doubles matches.
Against Purdue, Lyn and senior Jacqueline Crawford had to fight to win their match against Deborah Suarez and Marta Ruedas, but the Big Green pair walked away with a 7-6(2) victory.
Dartmouth won all three of its doubles matches against Penn State/Yale. Senior Taylor Ng and Lyn had a 6-1 win over Penn State’s Jacqueline Zuhse and Bennett Dunn, while Crawford and freshman Chuyang Guan defeated Yale’s Sherry Li and Caroline Lynch, 6-4. Sophomore Allison Chuang paired up with freshman Allison McCann to take down Taylor Shukow and Liyin Xu of PSU, 6-3.
Lyn won her singles match against Purdue’s Ruedas by a score of 6-4, 6-2. Ng and Nicole Robinson had their match go to three sets, but after Ng won the first set, Robinson took the next two to win the match.
The third and final day of the Big Green Invite will begin at 9 a.m. Dartmouth will face Penn State at 12 p.m.
