NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Dartmouth women’s tennis senior Taylor Ng and freshman Racquel Lyn saw their journey at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional come to an end on Monday with their loss in the semifinal to a doubles pair from Syracuse. Ng also played in the quarterfinal and semifinal of singles, falling in the latter.

In singles, Ng defeated No. 2 seed Gabrielle Knutson of Syracuse in the quarterfinal, falling by a score of 6-3 in the first before turning things around to win the next two, 6-1, 6-3. In the semifinal, St. John’s Jessica Livianu edged Ng, winning the first and third sets, 7-5, 6-3, while dropping the second, 7-5. Ng is Livinau’s first opponent to win a set this fall.

That evening in the doubles semifinal, Ng and Lyn faced the Orange’s Knutson and Valerie Salazar – who were ranked No. 12 in the preseason ITA rankings – falling in the first set, 6-2, before fighting back in the second to make it a really close set, but ultimately falling, 7-6(0).

Dartmouth will return to the court on Nov. 4-6 when it hosts the Big Green Invite.
