HANOVER, N.H. – Several members of the Dartmouth women’s cross country team will compete Friday morning at the 2016 NCAA Northeast Regional.

Hosted by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York, the meet will begin at 11 a.m. for the competing women’s teams. The Big Green women will run a 6K course, the same length of their usual races throughout the season, while the men will run a 10K race immediately afterward.

The Green and White are coming off a seventh-place finish at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship two weeks ago at Princeton’s West Windsor Fields. Senior Helen Schlachtenhaufen led the way for Dartmouth with a 14th-place finish, crossing in 20:57 to earn Second-Team All-Ivy League honors.

A freshman contingent helped shore up the team’s score as Olivia Lantz was 18th in 21:01, while classmate Diana Vizza was 21st with a 21:10 to her credit.

The top two teams from each of the nine regional championships will earn automatic berths to the NCAA National Championship Meet in Terre Haute, Indiana, next Saturday. At-large teams will fill out the field based on their finishes at the respective regional races.
