TUESDAY’S GAME
The Dartmouth men’s soccer team is hosting the University of Massachusetts Minutemen, in its home opener.

SCOUTING THE MINUTEMEN
UMass enters the contest with a 3-1-1 record, coming off a 1-0 win over Boston University this past weekend.  The Minutemen were selected to finish eighth in the Atlantic 10 Conference this year, and are currently tied for second.  Senior forward Alex DeSantis leads the offense with two goals and two assists combining for six points, and is tied for third in the conference in points. In the net for UMass is redshirted senior Bardia Asefnia, who is tied for third in the Atlantic 10 in saves with 20 and an .800 save percentage. 

LAST TIME AGAINST UMASS
This will be the 34th meeting between these two teams, the last time was four years ago in September of 2013, when Dartmouth won on its home field 2-0.

LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green are coming off a thrilling 1-0 overtime win over Hartford this past weekend.  Freshman Matt Ranieri scored his first collegiate goal in the first minute of overtime against the Hawks and snagged the first win of the season.

LEADING THE WAY
Dartmouth’s captains are Wyatt Omsberg, Matt Danilack and Tyler Dowse.  The seniors have started all three games, and combine for eight shots with five on goal so far this season. 

BETWEEN THE PIPES
Freshman Christopher Palacios has spent 225 minutes in the goal for the Big Green, grabbing six saves and allowing one goal. So far, the Arlington, Virginia native is second in the Ivy League standings in goals allowed and save percentage, boasting an .857 save average. 

CLASS OF 2021
Dartmouth’s youngest team members are holding down the fort, in both protecting the net and scoring.
