HANOVER, N.H. – The post season accolades continue to roll in for Dartmouth men’s soccer junior, Wyatt Omsberg after he was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Division 1 Best XI Third Team.
The list is comprised of the nation’s top players as decided by TopDrawerSoccer.com. Omsberg is the only Ivy League representative on either of the three teams.
Omsberg will add this accolade to his already impressive resume after he was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-American Third Team last week.
The Scarborough, Maine native was also honored as the Ancient Eight’s top defensive player, as well as a First Team All-Ivy selection for the second consecutive season. He was a member of a Big Green defensive front that only surrendered 12 goals in the regular season en route to its third consecutive Ivy League championship.
Omsberg, who started all 19 games he played in, was a contributor on the offensive side of the ball as well with seven points off three goals and an assist. He scored the game winning goal in a 2-0 victory at Northeastern on Nov. 1 and scored Dartmouth’s only goal on a penalty shot in a 1-1, double overtime draw with No. 17 Kentucky in the first game of the season.
