MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Following the mid-day action against Williams College, the No. 10 Dartmouth women’s squash team braved the winter storm in New England to travel to Middlebury, Vermont to face No. 15 Middlebury on Saturday night. The Big Green came out victorious with a, 8-1 win, improving to 4-1 on the season.
In the first round, junior Emma Roberts had a solid performance in the six slot, with a quick 3-0 victory. Next was freshman Brynn Bank, who also swept her opponent. Sophomore Julie Herman had a tough battle in the ninth position, losing her first match and bouncing back to take an 11-7 win in the second, but was unable to continue the momentum, losing in five.
With a 2-1 mark heading into the second round of games, Dartmouth had an opportunity to win the game with three more wins. Janel Gaube, Rebecca Brownell and Ellie Gozigian all had comfortable 3-0 wins for the Big Green, securing the win with a 5-1 mark before the final round of matches.
The win wraps up the early part of Dartmouth’s season before traveling to San Francisco for a training trip prior to the holidays. The Big Green returns back to action following the holiday break, on January 13, to play Ivy League foe Columbia.
