CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Dartmouth women’s squash junior Rebecca Brownell was named to the 2017 Harrow Sports College Squash Players of the Women’s National Team Championship as announced by the College Squash Association.
Brownell had a solid year, advancing to the second round of the CSA Individual Championship, finishing the season with eight wins. One of her best performances of the season came in the Kurtz Cup final when each point of the match was crucial to Dartmouth and its opponent, Drexel.
Recovering from a 2-0 deficit, Brownell won a five-game match at the No. 4 position against the Dragons’ Mary Fung-A-Fat (5-11, 5-11, 11-7, 11-5, and 11-6) to clinch the team match.
In her penultimate season with the Big Green, the Belmont, Massachusetts native competed in the No. 4 and 5 positions.
