HANOVER, N.H. – The eleventh-ranked Dartmouth women’s squash team defeated No. 10 Williams, 8-1 at the Berry Squash Courts on Wednesday evening.
With the victory, the Big Green improve to 4-6 overall while the Ephs dip to 17-6.
Senior Maddie Fraser and freshman Julia Potter battled hard, both winning in closely contested four-game matches. Meanwhile, junior Janel Gaube lost to her opponent in an un-characteristic quick three games match.
Junior Zainab Molani started the second round off strongly, winning in three decisive games, scoring 11-7, 11-3, and 11-4. Freshman Annie Blasberg followed suit, by recording a quick 3-0 win. Sophomore Emma Roberts won her first two games in extra points, scoring 15-13 and 17-15 in games that went down to the wire. Roberts closed out the last frame 11-6 to win her match.
Ahead 5-1 in the final round, junior Becky Brownell won her match in four, while freshman Junnat Anwar won in straight games. To end the night, captain Jaqueline Barnes wowed the crowd, coming back from a 2-0 deficit and to win the match in five games.
Dartmouth returns to action on Friday at Yale before hosting Stanford and Brown this weekend.
