NEWTON, Mass. – Dartmouth men's lacrosse seniors Wiley Osborne and Timmy Burke were two of 75 players to earn selection to the 2017 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Academic All-New England Teams.
Members of the team are nominated by head coaches in Division I, II and III and are comprised of student-athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their careers.
A two-time captain hailing from Woodside, California, Osborne appeared in eight of the team's games throughout 2017, starting all but one of them. He was fourth on the team in goals (8) and points (20), second in assists (12) and tied for second with two man-up goals. The attackman had at least one point in seven games and had six multi-point performances. Osborne had a season-high five assists in the 11-9 win over Vermont.
An assistant captain from Syosset, New York, Burke was one of just two Big Green players to appear in and start all 13 games this season. The defenseman earned his first collegiate point in the form of a goal against Harvard. He led the team with 57 ground balls and caused 17 turnovers, both of which were career highs.
