HANOVER, N.H. – Two sailors from the Dartmouth sailing team have been recognized by the New England Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association as Sailors of the Week.

Juniors Christopher Williford and Rebecca McElvain sailed for the Big Green at the Sherman Hoyt Trophy and won the A-division. The pair won three of the 14 races, with only two outside the top-10, and helped Dartmouth to a fourth-place overall finish.

The Sherman Hoyt Trophy is hosted yearly by Brown, as Hoyt was a Brown graduate, and a help to the sailing program in the 1930’s. This year 18 different teams from all over the country competed in Providence for the trophy.

This weekend the Big Green will be back in action, competing in regattas hosted by Roger Williams University, MIT, Harvard and Tufts.
