NORFOLK, Va. – In day two of the Western Semifinals at the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association National Championship the Dartmouth sailing team fared well, finishing in fifth overall to earn an advance to the finals beginning tomorrow.
The Big Green totaled 163 points over the course of the semifinals to keep them in the top-nine, a position necessary to continue to the finals. The College of Charleston remained in first place with 117 points while Harvard finished second with 141.
In the Eastern Semifinal, Yale took the win in first place overall and Brown came in fourth after battling up from day one. The top nine teams from each semifinal will compete tomorrow in the first day of the finals, which will feature six total Ivy League teams. Cornell and Penn finished eighth and ninth respectively in the Western Semifinal.
