HANOVER, N.H. – The No. 13 Dartmouth coed sailing team traveled to participate in the Fowle Trophy hosted by Connecticut College, which is also the New England Team Race Championship, finishing third out of 12 teams. An all-women group was in the state as well, competing in the Wick/Shrew Trophies at Yale where the team finished 10th out of 18.

With only three weekends of competition remaining before the national championship events begin, the Big Green needed success in the Fowle Trophy and secured their bid for the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association National Championship by taking third place. 

Representing Dartmouth were Jack McGraw, Christopher Williford, Duncan Williford, Alyssa Berger, Rebecca McElvain and Paige Clarke. In the field of 12 teams, No. 1 Yale took first place while No. 4 Roger Williams came in second, as the Big Green finished ahead of No. 3 Boston College and No. 8 Harvard who came in fourth and fifth. 

Just down the road to the west, the No. 16 women’s squad participated in a field of 18 teams for the Wick/Shrew Trophies and finished ahead of No. 18 Penn, No. 6 Coast Guard and No. 16 Tufts. The Division B team finished with 84 points, ahead of Harvard’s B team, while the Division A group tallied 93 points for a total of 177.  Mary Amis, Emma White, Lisa Genthner, Kathryn Hall and Eloise Burn raced for Dartmouth. 

Next weekend the Big Green return to the water with three regattas in the New England region, entering the final three weekends of regular season action.
