BOSTON, Mass. – The Dartmouth sailing team finished fifth in the 43rd Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championship over the weekend in Boston, Massachusetts, to conclude the co-ed dinghy fall season.

The Big Green finished with 289 points behind Hobart and William Smith College (274). MIT, the host school, took home the trophy with 245 points, while Tufts finished second (256) and College of Charleston grabbed third (267).

Dartmouth was represented by Charles Lalumiere, Nate Greason, Madeleine Cooney, Sophie Kerr, Mia Steck, Sophia Diserio, Christopher Williford and Rebecca McElvain.

Saturday greeted sailors with cold and shifty conditions on the Charles River with 5-12 knot winds. Sunday brought warmer temperatures and abundant sunshine and a 5-11 knot westerly breeze. The Big Green worked well, executing all the group and individual goals they have been working on all season in the regatta, specifically starting and decision making in down-winds.

Out of the 18 races that were completed, Dartmouth recorded six top five finishes in Division A and nine in Division B.

The Big Green return to the water for Match Race Nationals in San Diego next weekend.
