Freshman Kristen Giovanniello led the Big Green women's lacrosse team to two big wins this week and sophomore Connor Reilly continues to dominate the sprints for the track team earning the two of them Cross High Performance Athlete of the Week honors. Giovanniello leads NCAA division I in save percentage at .541 and backstops the nation's ninth ranked defense. Reilly ran a personal best 22.06 in the 200m at UNH this past weekend and combined that with a win in the 100m dash for the Big Green.

Each week, will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Cross High Performance Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Kristen Giovanniello (Old Brookville, N.Y.), Women's Lacrosse, Freshman, Goalie

Freshman goalie Kristen Giovanniello (Old Brookville, N.Y.) has been solid in her first collegiate season with the Dartmouth women's lacrosse team. She recently helped the 16th-ranked Big Green to victories over #13 Syracuse, 10-7, and Cornell, 13-7, this past week. With 17 saves total, the rookie saved 54.8 percent of the shots she faced on the week. She maintains the highest save percentage in all of NCAA Division I (92 teams) with a .541 percentage on the season. Her 10 saves against Syracuse marked the fourth time this season she has reached double-figures and she followed that with seven stops against Cornell. She also showed her defensive versatility with seven total ground balls in two games.
Giovanniello has played every minute of the season for Dartmouth with 93 saves to date and a goals against average of just 7.90, ranking ninth nationally.

Connor Reilly (Niskayuna, N.Y.), Men's Track and Field, Sophomore, Sprints

Sophomore Connor Reilly (Niskayuna, N.Y.) and the men's track and field team competed at the New Hampshire Wildcat Invitational on Saturday. Reilly dominated the sprinting events, winning the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. In the 100, he finished with a time of 10.84, and crossed the finish line with a time of 22.06 in the 200. His time in the 200 was a lifetime personal best. The Big Green compete at home this Sunday, April 17, against Vermont and Middlebury.
