Dartmouth Female Athlete of the Week:
Alex Tanner (Baltimore, Md.), Women's Track & Field, Senior, Sprints
Senior Alex Tanner (Baltimore, Md.) tied the school record in the 60 meter hurdles on Saturday, Jan. 15, in a tri-meet against Maine and Vermont. She tied the record with a time of 9.02. The previous week at the Dartmouth relays she won the 400-meter dash, and was part of the 4x400 relay team that took the top spot. Her efforts the past two weeks propelled the Big Green to victories at both meets. At the Dartmouth Relays, the team scored 107 points to claim first, and against Maine and Vermont the Big Green scored 72 points to finish ahead of the competition.
Dartmouth Male Athlete of the Week:
Scott Fleming (Plainfield, Ont.), Men's Hockey, Senior, Forward
Scott Fleming (Plainfield, Ont.) has scored in eight of the last nine games for Dartmouth including two points in two non-conference victories last week. Against in-state rival, New Hampshire his power play goal late in the first period tied the contest as the Big Green went on to defeat the 4th-ranked Wildcats, 5-4, for the first time since 2008. Fleming currently leads the team in scoring with 20 points along with eight goals and 12 assists. He needs just five more points to become the 34th player in Dartmouth history to record 100 points or more.
