Why Dartmouth?

I grew up in the Upper Valley and attended Hanover High School, which gave me a strong allegiance to Dartmouth years before I ever imagined applying to college here.  During my college search, I realized that Dartmouth had everything that I was looking for in other schools I visited.  That's when I knew I should apply.  Dartmouth has been an amazing experience for me and I have never looked back since.

How long have you been sailing and what got you interested in sailing?

I have sailed for years at summer camp in Maine, but never competitively.  My first year at Dartmouth, I met a couple kids on the team one night and they mentioned that I should come to practice and try it out.  As soon as I saw what a great group of kids made up the team and how excited they were to go sailing every day, it was an easy decision to stick with the sport through college.

Have you won and academic or sailing awards recently?

Nothing exciting that I can think of.

Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.

As part of my summer job this summer, I planned and executed a Harry Potter party for 500 children, and I was Severus Snape.

What are your future plans, if any?

I plan on graduating college, and hopefully applying to graduate school for arts and design.
