From a dome in Minnesota to the snowy fields of Hanover, the spring season is in full swing. Nick Lombardi and Hana Bowers are leading their teams to victory early. Not only did the Big Green baseball team win their first tournament of the season but sophomore Lombardi came home with the Silver Stick award as the Outstanding Player in the Tournament. Bowers had a career-day against Yale with four goals and two assists in the victory.

For their efforts Lombardi and Bowers have been named the Northeast Credit Union Athlets of the Week.

Each week, will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Hana Bowers (Old Greenwich, Conn.) Sr., A, Women's Lacrosse

Bowers had a solid first full week of her senior season, scoring six times and assisting on three others.Her two goals late in the game against UNH helped the Big Green tie the game at 10-10 and set up for a dramatic last-second goal by a teammate. She then would have a career day at Yale in the Ivy League opener two days later in New Haven, scoring four times and picking up two assists. The four goals and six points were both single-game career highs for the senior attacker. She currently leads the team in goals (9) and points (13) and is tied in assists (4).

Nick Lombardi (Saugus, Calif.) So., INF, Baseball

Lombardi, who was also named the Ivy Player of the Week by, was the recipient of the Silver Stick as the Most Outstanding Player at the tournament that took place at the former home of the Minnesota Twins, the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The third baseman hit an even .500 over the three games, (6-for-12) with two doubles, a home run and five RBIs. He belted the first pitch he saw this season over the fence to give Dartmouth a 1-0 lead against host Minnesota, then later socked the two doubles in the game, finishing a 10-3 victory with four RBIs. After singling in three trips to the plate in a 1-0 triumph over Northern Illinois, the native of Saugus, Calif., went 2-for-4 against Utah, including a two-out RBI single that tied the game in the sixth.
